Empowering and Connecting Remote Artisans to Mindful Customers

GlobeIn creates recurring revenue for artisans and farmers from around the world and in developing countries by providing them with exposure and the tools to build sustainable businesses.

GlobeIn

Described as a globe in a monthly subscription box, GlobeIn’s Artisan Box delivers exclusive, handcrafted products from global artisans. Each month features a new theme with eco-friendly, fairly traded and/or organic products supplied by various artisans. Each month’s Artisan Box contains a booklet that details the stories of the artists who made the pieces.

In their online shop, GlobeIn helps you discover delightful, useful, and vibrant goods in distant lands from the comfort of your home. The shop features handcrafted unique goods sourced from direct relationships with artisans as well as vetted partner organizations.

One of my favorite things about GlobeIn’s shop is that each item includes the details the stories and makers behind the item. Reading the stories and learning about the artist makes me feel more connected to each item.

As a social business, GlobeIn is creating social change in numerous ways.

  • GlobeIn creates sustainable, recurring revenue for artisans and farmers from around the world and in developing countries.
  • GlobeIn provides remote artisans and farmers with exposure and the tools to build sustainable businesses.
  • All items are produced either by collectives that are fair trade certified or that respect and adhere to fair trade principles. All artisans and farmers whose products are distributed by GlobeIn are paid a fair wage for their products.
  • To help you connect with GlobeIn’s artisans, every month GlobeIn highlights an artisan or artisan collective and introduces you to the crowdfunding opportunities for the artisan’s special project.

GlobeIn’s website details the social impact of specific Artisan Boxes, exemplifying their commitment to being a social business. Examples include:

In addition to the social business aspect, part of GlobeIn’s success is attributed to their use of high quality standard, and their focus on practical products that fit an average American woman’s lifestyle.

Knowing these businesses are doing their part to make this world a little bit better means I can feel good buying from them. Thank you Purpose Over Profit!
